I'm Michelle Magruder, a UX Designer working on products that hundreds of organizations use every day. Most of what I do involves taking something that already exists, understanding why it isn't working, and rebuilding it into something people can move through without thinking about it.

I'm Nielsen Norman Group certified, and I work across research, product design, interaction design, and prototyping. I also implement in HTML and CSS, which means some of the projects I designed are also projects that I helped build. Because of this, I recognize that constraints usually decide what ships, so I try to understand them early and design against them rather than around them.

Much of my work is taking a UX initiative from opportunity through to delivery: making the case for research, building agreement across teams that own different pieces of the outcome, and staying with a project through development so what launches is what was designed.
